Dunedin is home to some very special creatures including the yellow-eyed penguin and the royal albatross. We also a very strong Scottish heritage. We have a great castle called Larnach castle which William Larnach once owned. We are home to a large chocolate factory run by Cadburys. We were scarcely populated until the gold rush began in the late 1800s. The mayor of Dunedin is Chinese and is named Peter Chin. We have recently added a Chinese scholars garden to show our Chinese heritage.
